It may seem harsh but it’s true … diets don’t work.

Research proves that diets are not a sustainable way to achieve and maintain better health whether your goal is to improve your weight, eating, or body image.

So, what options are there?

Let’s first examine why diets don’t work.

The Problem with Diets

You’re standing in line at the grocery checkout.

You’ve somehow navigated the aisles and aisles of food and temptations. You’ve made it to the register and so it begins …

You’ve been craving a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios … and as you wait in line, you glance to the magazine cover stories.

“Lose 10 pounds in 5 days!”

“Lose 4 sizes by Thanksgiving.”

“Flatten your abs in just 5 minutes a day!”
It’s everywhere you turn! A promise for a quick fix.

You look at your stomach, reach for the magazine … and remember how this has gone before.
After the last diet you tried, you gained back all the weight you lost, plus an extra 10 pounds. The same thing that happens to the majority of dieters. You begin to wonder if maybe this isn’t the answer.

Self-Talk Is Real

As you pause you think about how going on a diet makes you feel … and the list starts.
You’re reminded that dieting causes you to feel …

• Deprived
• Punished … like you’re not good enough as you are
• Weak, tired, and lethargic
• Depressed
• Obsessive about exercise and calorie intake
• Stressed out about being with family and friends
• Overly emotional
• Short-Tempered
• Self-Critical while looking in the mirror (including more body checking)
• And withdrawn and isolating.

A Better Way

Do you realize you’re not alone?

Ninety-five percent of dieters regain the weight they lost… time and time again.

95%!! Those are not great results!

I know because I’ve done it myself … more times than fingers on my hands can count.
And it’s exhausting.

THIS time, as you reach for the magazine and the urge comes up to go on a diet … you can pause and ask yourself “What if I decided NEVER TO GO ON A DIET AGAIN?”
What would that look like? Feel like?

Better Outcomes

I’ve done it and like me, you’ll have an opportunity to …

• Be empowered!
• Move and exercise how and when you want
• Have all the energy you need to do whatever you want to do
• Enjoy all foods with friends, family, or alone
• Not be defined by comments from others
• Understand and empathize with the struggles of others
• Release your own expectations of “fitting into the thin ideal”
• Be free from mirrors, scales, and calories
• Free yourself by rejecting societies diet culture and thin ideal
• Feel free to wear clothes that are comfortable
• Gain confidence in yourself
• And not stress over going to the beach, getting photographed, or trying on clothes.

Choice and Options Instead of Diets

As for me, I want to enjoy a glass of wine, an ice cream cone, and chocolate chip cookies. I want to move my body on my terms. To respect and honor myself. I’m worth it. Nothing has been as freeing as making the decision to live Diet-Free.

YOU ARE WORTH IT!

You deserve to feel empowered and strong and to follow your own rules, your own standards and be OK with all of them. The choice is up to you.

I’ve spent the past 30+ years being trained to guide women who struggle with food, eating, weight, and body image to find a better way … a way without diets!
